This week in music, Kindergarten students enjoyed reading The Band! After listening to the story, we matched real musical instruments to the characters in the book. The kids loved exploring how each instrument sounded and thinking about which character might play it. It was a great way to connect literacy with rhythm and sound!

4th grade is working hard for their Spring Concert and we are learning the Thriller dance. We were all sweating towards the end! Super proud of them for being brave and letting their dance moves take over!

4th grade is getting ready for our Spring Concert and of course we’ve got to get out our buckets to start drumming.

Preschool got to come to music today. We played our shakers to some valentine songs and pretended to be superheroes with our scarves. We learned a valentine poem and used it to express our poem. 

September 6, 2024

Prek got to have their very first music class today. We played rhythm sticks, maracas, learned a story on our about Mr. Wiggle and Mr. Waggle and used some scarves to shake out or wiggle both large and small. 

3rd Grade gets an amazing opportunity to be visited by a special IU guest teaching and helping us to create our own class composition. So far we have just started to look and hear the creativity of what the student want their song to sound like. It’s been a lot of fun.
