BCHS Students Help Decorate Nashville for the Holidays

Band Students Participate in Honor Ensembles

Last weekend, the band program had several students participate in honor ensembles representing Brown County High School and Brown County Middle School.

BCHS Seniors Jayce Riggle on Trombone and CJ Cox on Bass performing with the Indiana Jazz Educators Association (IJEA) All-District Honor Jazz Band up at Whiteland HS.

Additionally this past weekend, w8th Grade students Emmalynn Woodall on Tenor Saxophone and Zacharie Carlburg on Clarinet perform in the Indiana Bandmasters Association (IBA) All-Region Honor Band at Clark-Pleasant Middle School. I was not able to attend the performance due to being at the Jazz Performance.

In both cases, these students had to apply and then were selected from a host of other schools in the area, combining into an ensemble comprised of some of the best students from each school corporation being chosen.

Congratulations to these students for this achievement and the experience to play with other great young musicians from Indiana.

Student Volunteers Help at the Hilly Half

On Saturday, November 16th, BCHS students helped to make the YMCA Hilly Half Marathon event a success. Students volunteered to hand out water, give medals to finishers, and serve food after the event. It’s great to see our BC leaders making a difference in these community events.
