Week of September 8, 2025

Preschool is  learning all about trees this month! 

Kindergarten students are learning to use objects to tell stories as a part of Writer’s Workshop.

First grade took advantage of the nice weather to practice their spelling words outside using sidewalk chalk.

We are increasing our stamina for read to self time and practicing our decoding skills.

The first graders have been working hard on learning the literacy centers and really enjoy the centers. We have also been working on Must Do’s and May Do’s. We still need practice, but they will get it! 

Second graders read The Magical Yet, and came up with their own “not yets”! 

Here is a picture of Miss Thomas’ August Birthday day. On the last Friday of every month, Miss Thomas celebrates all of the birthdays for that month with a special party and treat!

Mrs. Wagers is teaching a writing lesson on writing complete sentences. After writing their sentences, students annotate their work by using different colors of markers to circle the subject, predicate, capital letter, and end mark.

Third graders learning all about the midwestern region we live in and coloring in their maps. 

Fourth grade students reviewing their favorite chapter in the book.

5th graders got creative with their volume zoo animals! They created an animal using rectangular prisms and then found its volume!

Kindergarten went on a nature walk to discover where animals might live and hide.

4th Grade measuring height and measuring balance as we discussed traits and how they might be different in space.

2nd grade spent time tracking data for the number of animals in different specific habitats so we could try and find out why some animals were acting differently than they used to.

STEM Student of the Week – Cason Sipes – Cason has been working really hard in STEM class. He has been showing focus and preparation for the work we have been doing this week in STEM. Great job Cason!!!
