Week of January 12, 2026

Preschool has continued their study of Arctic animals and Winter weather this week. They are also working on fine motor skills, alphabet sounds, and teamwork!

Kindergarten creating melted snowman characters to star in their next piece for Writer’s Workshop. They are working on using graphic organizers, C.U.P.S. editing, and sound spelling their sentences. 

First graders were getting crafty this week as they made some polar bears and subtraction penguins.

In Mrs Platt’s first grade class, students learned about the community helpers of a grocery store. They read a booklet about a grocery store and drew pictures and answered a question about how grocery stores get the food for people to buy. They enjoyed doing this activity. 

Second grade getting in some STEM challenge time this week! 

Third graders love practicing for their vocab test on Kahoot.

Imagining a “World Without Rules” sounded like fun at first…until we realized all of our favorite things stopped working, being safe, and looking good. 4th Grade ELA is studying Narrative Nonfiction and focusing on the essential question, “Why do we need government?”

Fifth graders got to feel what it was like to be an Early European Explorer. They worked with their team and planned their exploration to find gold. Some were successful!

First graders did a fantastic job sharing similarities and differences with one another as well as choosing behaviors that are inclusive versus behaviors that make people feel left out.

Second graders imagined a town where everyone belongs. We wrote about actions we could take to make others feel welcome.
