Week of December 2, 2024

PreK

Getting into the holiday spirit by listening to holiday music, decorating, and taking a nap.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten students are learning about Yul and tasting some Yul bread.

First Grade

Learning to read by learning about the “Babies in the Bayou.”

Second Grade

Last week we talked about the Thanksgiving Day Parade. Mr. Pagnard came in and read the book Balloons over Broadway. Then, the students made their balloons to be paraded around the school. The students had a lot of fun designing and creating their balloons.

Third Grade

Third graders took a break from their hard work to design and create decorations to make our hallway look festive.

Fourth Grade

Fourth graders are continuing to grow in their math facts each day. We played a team board game using our multiplication facts.

Fifth Grade

The fifth graders get to design their own totem poles after learning about Native Americans from the Northwest Region.

STEM

4th Graders finished the car restraint systems and model cars. We were able to test them with passenger eggs in them. We let them roll down ramps and crash. The 4th graders did an amazing job and had so many wonderful designs and ideas that helped save their passengers.

2nd Graders learned more about the power of water this week. We did an exploration about erosion and learned how sand gets to the beach. Students learned that sand is just tiny rocks. They end up tiny from erosion and being washed down streams and ending up in oceans and then onto the beach. Students learned about different ways that rocks break down. Not only are they carried by water, but the water crashes the rocks into each other sometimes causing them to break.
