PreK
Prek is having fun at lunch and open exploration time!
Kindergarten
This week we celebrated the 100th day of school and we also made bear crafts since our letter of the week is B!
First Grade
1) Have been using base ten blocks to learn more about quicker counting and splitting objects into their place value in math.
2) Have been learning more about economics within our family units in social studies.
3) Have been writing book reports on our favorite books and learning more about the genre, fantasy.
4) Have gotten another new student to give us a total of 26 children in our classroom! 🙂
5) Have been practicing our Red Word booklets at home and 4 of our students have already completed 3 grade levels, so far!
Second Grade
Second graders celebrated 100 days in school this week. We counted to 100, we found 100 words, we made necklaces with 100 fruit loops and had a scavenger hunt for 100 things!Â
Third Grade
Third graders are learning about timelines in Social Studies. Today they were creating their own timelines of historical events in Indiana.Â
Fourth Grade
Fourth graders continue to work hard in every class. They are learning the big 7 method of division, informational text structure, and all about genetically modified corn. Yes, you read that right. Be sure to ask your fourth grader the pros and cons of genetically modified crops.
Fifth Grade
What can learning about different cultures teach us? As we learn to summarize and compare texts, we are also spending time researching how different cultures have their own customs and traditions.
5th graders are learning about European explorers in social studies. Students are having fun taking turns being the teacher!
STEM
Students in the 4th and 5th grades working on coding and Sphero Bots!Â
