Week of February 16, 2026

This week Preschool did an animal study, worked on patterning, and enjoyed the warm weather!

Kindergarten wrapped up our social studies economics unit by traveling to a deserted island. The kids had to pack their backpacks with 3 needs and 1 want.

First graders went on a shape scavenger hunt, learned about President George Washington and made a craft for the hallway, and played Pass the Paper in math as they had to take turns filling in the next number on the 100 chart.

Mrs. Platt’s first grade class has incorporated fluency practice into their everyday activities. The students are really enjoying working with a partner to work on letter sounds. The students are also reading a passage together each day. Reading is fun!

The VBE second grade students enjoy celebrating their success. Second grade students celebrating Pajama Day.

Third-grade students are hard at work building their vocabulary skills! The VBE third graders are busy preparing for the IREAD-3 test, which they will take at the beginning of March. We know they will make us proud!

Fifth graders discussing the cause and effects of the Age of Exploration.

1st Grader testing their communication devices that use either light or sound or both. They tested in the dark to pretend they were lost in a forest to see if the devices would help them be found.
