Week of November 10, 2025

Preschool got to enjoy and snow filled nature walk this week!!

The Kindergarten students learned all about being a principal from our own Mr. Pagnard for World of Work Wednesday.

First graders have been busy making silly centers during literacy centers. They also combined science and reading to create a poster explaining how two animals interact in a bayou. We love identifying nouns using Post-It practice. Due to the cold morning temperatures, DannyGo dance videos helped us take much needed brain breaks.

Mrs. Platt’s first grade class has been busy this week. The students worked in pairs working on a word sort activity. They seemed to really enjoy working together and figuring out the activity. First grade also had a visitor this week. Miss Laquita from the cafeteria, came and talked about the important food groups and gave all the students a snack.

Second grade students honored our Veterans this week by writing a letter thanking them for their service.

Multiplications strategies are much more fun to learn when we get to do them on a Peardeck. Today third graders were learning how to use numberlines to solve multiplication equations.

4th Grade ELA & Social Studies – Students will research an influential person from Indiana’s history – past or present – and bring them to life in a “wax museum.” On presentation day, Friday, December 19, students will dress up as their chosen figure and perform a short monologue or presentation as if they are that person!

5th Grade ELA & STEM – BAM! Can you smell what 5th graders are cooking? In a simple cooking activity (Pop Over: The Ultimate Baked Bubble), we will be able to make qualitative observations and quantitative measurements of different materials. Later we will use these properties to identify and classify the materials as solids, liquids, or mixtures; along with other properties such as texture, density, conductivity (thermal), and solubility.

5th graders learn what is was like to trek across Beringia by foot during the ice age with a fun game!

5th graders mixing matter. Students mixing different substances to see what happens to the mass when they are mixed. They are learning about the law of conservation of mass.

2nd graders drawing leaves and making notes about their texture and color. They are also predicting what will happen when the leaves are frozen.
