BCHS Student Advisory Team Collaborates on Education’s Future at Eastern Hancock

Last week, Superintendent Emily Tracy took the high school Superintendent Student Advisory Team to Eastern Hancock to collaborate and engage with other high school students. They were able to see a different high school design, discuss challenges, opportunities and successes at each of their schools, and help the educational leaders in the room see a different perspective. BCHS is proud of this group of students for representing our school so well and contributing to the dialogue to develop the future of education locally and around the state.

Veteran’s Day Program

Brown County High School hosted the annual Veteran’s Day Program. Career Navy veteran Chris Chisholm was the keynote speaker sharing words of wisdom and stories of his time in the Navy, with the focus being on the sacrifices made by the families of veterans. State Senator Erich Koch was in attendance and delivered poignant remarks in honor of our veterans.

Special acknowledgement to our History Club members and sponsors Alecia Adams and Emily Lewellen for making this ceremony a possibility.

Spanish Students Experience Art, Cuisine, and More in Chicago

Spanish students embarked upon a field trip to Chicago last weekend to explore some of the city’s sites dedicated to Hispanic culture. Mrs. Spiece and Mrs. Newlin brought students to the National Museum of Mexican Art, The Art Institute of Chicago, and a Spanish tapas restaurant. Additionally, students got to experience other notable Chicago landmarks including Navy Pier, Garfield Park Conservatory, Millenium Park, and a tour of Wrigley Field.

What a great world class opportunity for our Spanish students!
