6th Grade Highlights
This week’s blog post is going to highlight all of the cool things happening in 6th Grade Academy so far this year! Students have been working on a variety of activities and projects helping them learn about topics in history, science, language arts and math.
First up, students have had the opportunity to check out Brown County’s local library. Many students were able to experience getting a library card for the first time while others updated old ones or replaced previous cards. Students also enjoyed time reading through books before check out!
In Science, 6th grade students got to experience dissecting owl pellets. They were able to talk about the things that owls eat and the process that occurs when owls digest things!
Finally, the 6th graders have been working on creating Colosseums to help them as they study ancient Rome. Every material imaginable was used to bring these Colosseums to life and they came in all sizes. From Legos, to popsicle sticks, wafer cookies, and paper mache, the students used great creativity to design and build their structures!
We are so excited for the rest of the school year with these creative and hard-working 6th graders!
