8th grade BCMS students got the opportunity to participate in Junior Achievement (JA) Job Spark this past week! This event is put on by the Junior Achievement organization and held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Junior Achievement is the “nation’s largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their futures, and make smart academic and economic choices” (Junior Achievement of Central Indiana Website).

Students were able to talk to professionals in a variety of career fields while also participating in hands on activities that gave them insight into what those careers had to offer! Careers in agriculture, medicine, engineering, and hospitality were just some of those represented at the event. Prior to going, students had discussions about possible careers they might be interested in and were able to look at different businesses and organizations that are based in Indiana.
